... I received a gift from one of the mysterious charity women that appeared in all towns. She said: "Here, take these reins and bring them to the hermit north-west of Carlin. He'll tell you what to do with them." I did what she asked me to do. And after a long travel to the coast north-west of Carlin, I found the house of Lothar the hermit. Apparently, Lothar has a very strong affinity with animals and during drunken nights in the local underground bar, he even brags about riding them. Now, it seems he continues bragging about it, even when he's sober. So maybe there's some truth behind his wild words. Anyway, I showed him the reins and he immediately knew which animal I could tame with it.

 

 

A black sheep he said? I wasn't too sure it could carry my weight ... not that I'm that big ... but still. But, I figured it was worth the try. Afterall, I got the reins for free. I knew of one spot in the Femur Hills where a family of sheep adopted one of their estranged black cousins. Luckily, those hills weren't too far away from Carlin, so I quickly got there. But when I climbed up hill to look for the sheep, it appeared the black specimen had ... left the premises.

 

 

But thankfully, Lady Fortune was with me that day. A friendly mage passed by and summoned a pair of black sheep for me and another adventurer. I forgot about the fact I walked the whole way for nothing, and used the reins to tame the little fellow. After some tries I succeeded and got a new furry little friend!

 

 

Now, will the black sheep let me ride him? Eventually he did, after a serious dose of painkillers. But finally, I obtained my very own mount! I decided to call him Pegasus ...

 

 

Some more (practical) information about mounts:

 

• As this stage of the test server, you are able to use the taming item (in this case the reins) until you succeed to tame the creature. Failure won't break the item. This might of course change.
• The items can be bought from the test server assistants. When the Winter update arrives, these special taming items will become a rare drop from existant creatures.
• Some of the tameable are normal creatures that appear in fixed spawn, for example: black sheep, boar.
• Others appear in small regular raids.
• As shown in the test server report, summoned creatures work just as well as normal spawned ones. This of course is also still subject to change.
• Some known locations of regular raids are: Chaochai, Outlaw Camp (boars), Tiquanda Jungle, Razzachai castle, Ramoa lich hell, Calassa and of course Femur Hills (black sheep)!
