[OTfans] OTFans: Rule Amendment / Addition

In light of our existing rules regarding copyright infringement on our forums (no torrent sharing, distribution of the CipSoft developed map etc.) we have found it necessary to expand the rule and community standard to no longer allowing threads containing information relating to map trackers.

 

This will cover:

• Releasing your trackers or tracking source code on our forum
• Posting tracked maps you don't have lawful ownership of
• Linking offsite to a map tracker release or giving instructions of where to find one

Map trackers have been disallowed as their sole mainstream purpose is to steal another person's intellectual property. They don't generally serve forum-goers any other purpose than that stated and we do not wish to play host to a backwards community that would also use these tools to steal your fellow members' work.

 

Map trackers however may also serve other useful purposes, such as reviewing another well-known server's work at a finer detail for learning purposes, but such use is reportedly low and for the reasons above we still cannot allow it.
