When Can a Woman Not Get Pregnant - A woman cannot get pregnant during certain phases of her menstrual cycle. The most fertile period occurs during ovulation, which is when an egg is released from the ovaries. Generally, ovulation happens approximately 12-16 days before the start of the next menstrual period. However, it's important to note that the timing of ovulation can vary among individuals, and sperm can survive in the female reproductive tract for several days. Therefore, it's possible to conceive if intercourse occurs a few days before ovulation. Additionally, using contraceptive methods consistently and correctly is crucial for preventing unintended pregnancies. If you have specific concerns about fertility or family planning, it's best to consult with a healthcare professional.
